AKC Italian Greyhounds

Hi! My name is Megan. I am a preservation breeder of Italian Greyhounds. While I am a newer face to the Italian Greyhound community, I am working diligently to produce IGs everyone would love to own. Conformation and health a forefront, but striving for versatility and stable temperaments.
All of my dogs are health tested prior to breeding. DNA through UC Davis for: SPRA1, PCAG, & FEH. We also elect to pull genetic diversity and color panels on our dogs of breeding age.
Patellas, hips, eyes, thyroid all through various health clinics. I usually seek out health clinics at dog shows to do these tests for convenience.
My vision with this breed is to produce beautiful dogs that are correct type, healthy, sound, and good minded. My preference is to produce dogs that can be successful in multiple venues, or just being a perfect pet. My personal goals are mainly conformation related, however I do keep temperament high on my priority list given how poor the average temperaments are in this breed.
I believe that all puppy buyers should be well informed on their purchase. GoodDog encourages transparency and displays which breeders are out doing the right thing.
GoodDog has a wealth of resources, from training tips and tricks, to webinars. It is packed with educational tools even veteran breeders can use.
Tillie is a grand champion, very pretty girl with correct topline and gait. Highly intelligent, good minded. Tom is a stunning sable and white boy, a veteran aged dog in excellent health. Fabulous outgoing temperament, and correct gait.
All puppies should be sable and white, unlikely we will get any other colors.
Waiting patiently for her to grace us with her season. Peach is a beautiful minimally shaded sable. Meaning she appears red, but is genetically sable. Excellent temperament, highly trainable. She is one of the easiest to train IGs I've ever owned. Very quick learning. She is 4, and in beautiful condition. This will likely be her only litter, so act quickly if you want to be on this list. Priority for show and performance homes.
Ro is a veteran aged boy, very pretty type and quality. A top producer of finished champions, and many very accomplished show dogs. Very excited to see what this pairing produces.

Moira is the matriarch of our family and our breeding program. She is mom to Peach, Bubbles, Pickles, and Trixie. She has more than earned her retirement. We've considered 1 last litter for her, however, she has already given us so much.

Donut is a 5 year old girl, retired from showing and breeding. She has given us 3 beautiful litters of puppies. So far 1 grand champion, and 3 champions. One more that is pointed and working on her championship.
She's also given us a number of wonderful dogs that are excellent companions to families across the USA. Her outgoing, happy, workable temperament is inherited by her puppies.

Peach is a beautiful 3 year old. She completed her AKC GCH with minimal showing. She is a group placing and owner handled group winner. Her temperament is lovely, very stoic and happy to go do things. She is moderate energy and has a nice off switch. I anticipate she will produce beautiful show and sport prospects. She is about 15" and 12lbs.

Pickles is from our January 2023 litter, out of Moira and Zo. He speedily finished his AKC champion title from the puppy classes, going out with a bang as winners dog and best of winners at our Orlando regional specialty. I love this boy's balanced gait, pretty topline and so much more. He is sweet, intelligent and eager to please his people.

Tillie is from our Dec 2023 litter. She is about 13 ¾" and 8lbs. Tiny girl with a big personality. Moderate to high energy, she is not yet at the age where she's a true adult. She finished her championship and grand championship with very minimal showing.

Trixie is from our Feb 2024 litter. She finished speedily from the bred by exhibitor class. She has gone on to finish her grand champion bronze in style as a group winner, multi group placer, multiple best in show owner handled winner, and a best in specialty show winner. We are very proud of her accomplishments. She's one of a kind, and a true showman. We thoroughly enjoy her spunky personality. No immediate plans to breed her, 2027 is the absolute earliest.

Hi! My name is Megan.
I am an insurance professional by trade, licensed in the state of Florida and South Carolina. Breeding and showing dogs will never be my sole source of income. I don't do this for money, fame, or anything else other than improving the breed. My vision is producing performance sports dogs that wow. Ethical preservation breeding is something I feel very strongly about.
In my past I was a horse trainer and riding instructor. I was heavily involved with reconditioning horses post illness and injury as well. Growing up my parent was a dog trainer and animal behaviorist. This meant between the horses and dogs, I was never without some sort of four-legged animal. I have handled many different types of dogs from terriers to working to toy. The toy group completely has my entire heart.
